When we was filming, we had a few risks when we were cutting the victims thumb off. We could of by mistake cut the actor or when the boss runs his finger along the hacksaw he could of cut himself the way we got past this is that we had a member of staff watching over us when we shot thoughs these scenes.
Other risks; orignally we where going to have a scalpel but that was far too dangerous to use even with teachers around, where as the hacksaw was easier to manage with no harm to others.
